Procrastination and Perfection

I'm a procrastinator.

I'm also a perfectionist.

These can be closely tied together and I'm highly aware of how my desire to do well causes me to procrastinate.

It can seem weird if it's not your tendency.

For me it shows up when I'm feeling unsure of myself or fearful I won't show up well. Things that are new, something that could "expose" that I don't know what I'm doing, or in general I have to uplevel my skills.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) portal for the 2026 ICF Midwest Coaches Conference is open! We’d love to receive your ideas for sessions to share with our community September 23–25, 2026, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Our theme, Seeds for Transformation, invites you to dig in—whether you’re planting fresh ideas or cultivating deep experience, your voice matters.

Being “in the room where it happens” at an in-person conference offers a powerful kind of experiential engagement we simply can’t replicate virtually.

Your proposal would be a true gift to the coaching community, and there’s still time to plant those seeds!

Learn more about the proposal process here!

A New Chapter for Our Coaching Connection

Great news! Our Monday coaching calls are evolving. To ensure this valuable group continues to thrive, we're transitioning from weekly to bi-weekly meetings on the first and third Mondays of the month.

The new time will be during the lunch hour (12:00 PM CT), making it more accessible for busy schedules.

We'll still have the same great space for accountability, connection, and "geeking out" on all things coaching. We can't wait to see you there.

Meeting Recordings

Past meeting recordings are available on our website under Event > Meeting Recordings.  Please log in to view.

"Real Talk" Series

Real_Talk_Email_Header.png
Join us for some Real Talk! In this series we will discuss the real issues we all face as coaches, entrepreneurs, and humans striving to make a difference. We will share our experience and opinions, not answers. These sessions will not be recorded, as we want to encourage candid conversation and a safe space for all.

Do you have suggestions for a Real Talk topic? Are you interested in facilitating a Real Talk conversation? Reach out to any member of the ICF Iowa board!

  • Want to be added to the calendar invite? Contact Roxy Galkin galkinroxanne@gmail.com
